Matte but not flat

Hello ladies, Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a  makeup routine? Reach for the same colours, do the same eye shadow placement, tend to buy the same finish shadows? This is what was happening to me, neutral brown eye shadows, with a bit of light shimmer on the upper lid, and of course winged eyeliner. This is why I challenged myself to do a look without using any shimmery eye shadow or highlighter. What do you prefer, a matte or a shimmery finish? 😊  Products used: EYES : Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer Melkior Eye Shadow in Soft Skin, Chocolate, Captive Grey, Black Velvet NYX Slide On, Glide on, Stay on Eyeliner in Jet Black Yves Rocher Crazy Sexy Pulp Mascara in 01 Black – NYX Eyebrow Gel in Brunette Maybelline Brow Drama 12 H Sculpting Brow Mascara in 01 Transparent FACE: Yves Rocher Elixir Jeunesse Double Action Repair + Anti-pollution Clinique Pep-StartEye Cream Elizabeth Arden Good Morning Retexturizing Primer Pupa Made To

Empties #3

Hello ladies, Out with the old, and in with the new. Isn't it the saying? Let's see what got tossed this time, shall we? L'Oreal Smooth Sugar Glow Scrubs - was one of the best facial scrubs I uses in the last period. It left my complexion clean, smooth and hydrated. But if it is used more than 3 times a week, can feel a bit heavy on the skin from the oils (grape seed and manoi oil). Really curious to try the other two scrubs: The Nourish Scrub and The Clear Scrub. Ziaja Astringent Face Toner - by far the best toner I have ever tried. Cleanses, reduces dilated pores, reduces infections, soothes irritations. What more do you want from a toner?  It was the final touch in my evening makeup removal routine. Yasumi Eye Pouch Sample - I got this sample at Beauty18 Fair from the Yasumi stand, and it's been sitting in one of my drawer until last month or so. It was suppose to: reduce swelling around the eyes (the so-called. "Bags under the eyes&qu

Hello ladies, Oh my goodness, as soon as I started playing with Juvia's Masquerade Mini palette I could not stop at two or three shades, I had to try every single one in the palette. The matte shades blend beautifully, the shimmer ones are creamy and heavily pigmented. I absolutely love the outcome, and I hope you do too. Juvia's Masquerade Mini Palette - First Impression

Image
Hello ladies, After fighting the idee of ordering another eyeshadow palette, because I have soo many of them, last week I gave in, and placed my first order on Juvia's Place . I got The Masquerade Mini Palette and The Magic Mini Palette (article comming up soon). They were 62.5 $ (around 400 danish krone), delivered to my door step in one week, via Fedex. "The Masquerade Palette was inspired by festivities usually filled with beautiful and striking colors. Enormously captured and celebrated with joy, beauty, vibrancy and spirituality. Sixteen richly pigmented colors, created and formulated to beautifully elevate your beautiful qualities. Let's celebrate!!" It was love at first sight. I  💗 everything about this palette, the colors, the formulation, the way they apply and blend. It is just perfection. Out of the sixteen eyeshadows, nine are  shimmery (Chi, Mali, Dalia, Zola, Makeda, Calabar, Giza, Dahia, Casablanca), two are matte with glitter (Bori and Cai

Shiny Red Lips

Image
Hello ladies, As far as I remember, when I was a little girl, I disliked red lipstick, because it was the ONLY lipstick color that my mother would wear, and I felt there were so many more colors out there that she could pull-off. But now, that I am older, I find myself embrasing red lipstick from time to time, just to see if my childhood opinion has changed. Let's just say it is a "complicated" relationship. 🙊💋 Leve me a comment in the section below, what are your feeling on red lipstick? Love it or hate it?       Products used: EYES : Radiant Professional Makeup Eye Shadow Base Maybelline Lemonade Craze in Sherbet Melkior Eyeshadow in Volcano Melkior Eyeshadow in Old Brick Melkior Eyeshadow in Fragile Melkior Eyeshadow Camee Rose Rimmel Color Precise Eyliner in 001 Black Løwén Beyond Volume & Curl Mascara in 01 Black W7 Get Real Lashes in HL02 – NYX Eyebrow Gel in Brunette NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Ash Brown Maybelline B

Yves Rocher Serum Vegetal Luminizing Eye Roll-on - Review

Image
Hello ladies, Like any self respecting woman out there, I have dark circles under my eyes. They are, part genetic, part lifestyle and all annoying. So when it comes to eye creams or serums I am up for trying anything, that will minimize my dark circles. After my beloved Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado finished, I decided to give Yves Rocher Seum Vegetal  Luminizing Eye Roll-on a test. What do they claim it does? "The powerful anti-wrinkle action of the Ice Plant is combined with Oryza extract, which recreates skin’s cohesion and boosts its radiance. Specially developed for the delicate skin around the eye, the Luminizing Eye Roll-on Wrinkles & Radiance instantly smoothes wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes. Under eye bags seems deflated and dark circles are visibly faded. Result: eyes look refreshed and youthful." What is my experince with it? Straight up, I have to tell you, I do not expect miracles and that made my peace, with the f

Lemonade Craze

Image
Hello ladies, This look was done using only Maybelline Lemonade Craze. A 12 eyeshadow palette, 8 matte and 4 shimmer with a faint smell of citrus. You can find it at Normal for 98 kr. I like the colour scheme, neutral, with just a few pop of colours, that in theory, can be used to create day looks as well as night looks. Sadly the formulation is to dusty and the colour pay-off is close to nonexistent. I had to reapply the colours a few times to get the intensity I wanted for this look. I don't want to say is a bad palette, so I will give it another shot, and let you know if it is worth it. Autumn 2018 Makeup Trends

Image
Hello ladies, As the seasons change so do the makeup trends change. What was IN in the spring or summer is OUT in the fall or winter. While the spring and summer makeup trends are more fresh, pink-ish and glowy, the autumn and winter makeup focuses on rusty, red and wine shades. It also becomes more strong and eye-catching. Discover below the autumn/winter 2018's makeup trends I think you need to keep on eye on, and maybe even try them out. 60's inspired -  when you say 60's makeup you say Twiggy, extra-long falsies, dark cut crease and pink pale lips. But for 2018, you can update the cut crease with beautiful purple or pink  shades.   Bare skin and dramatic lashes -  Glowy skin, natural brows, lip balm and a lot of mascara for that fluttering ultra-feminine beauty look, that is so simple but oh so modern. 80's drama - natural face, glittery smoky eye winged out past the brows. Eyeshadow fanned out to the temples for a gothic goddess feel.

Ivy September Rosenauer Music Video

Image
Hello ladies, This summer I had the opportunity to work on a music video. I have missed the long hours on set, the creativity and the energy that goes in to a video or photo shoot. Ivy September Rosenauer, is a sweedish singer/artist, a spokes person for the transgender community and intergrate her personal experiences in the work she does. She is working on changing peoples minds on the normative society we live in. This is what she sais about the video:  "In this male dominating society we live in I thought its time to reverse roles a bit. We always hear about bitches and hoes. To all my girls and queens this is for you!!!" The whole experience was super fun for me, and I hope you will like the backstage picture as well as the video. Kisses, Julia
